Babèlia Books & Coffee is a secondhand bookstore and café born from the need for personal and professional growth of two friends. They met while working in the film and television industry, and for hours they fantasized about creating their own space, a business they would love to be in and where they would enjoy working and growing at the same time.
One with the idea of opening a secondhand multilingual bookstore, seeing the lack of such spaces in Barcelona, and the other with the desire to open a café with a cultural feel, they decided to take the plunge and on September 19, 2012, they opened Babèlia, uniting those two ideas.
As for the food, Babèlia Books & Coffee currently offers a breakfast, lunch, and snack menu featuring artisanal and organic baked goods. All of its products come from nearby bakeries and producers: cured meats, cheese, bread, pastries, vegetables, teas, and herbal teas.
In the mornings, they offer breakfasts such as sandwiches, toast, croissants, pain au chocolat, cardamom buns, scones, or homemade granola with honey and fruit. They also have a menu of freshly made juices and lemonades, as well as organic teas and infusions .
At lunchtime, they add salads and creams, always fresh and made to order, which can be combined with any of their hot sandwiches. And for afternoon snacks, they have a wide variety of homemade cakes delivered daily, for example: carrot and tamarind, chocolate and orange or banana, carrot and cheese, chocolate and coconut, red berry crumble, plum and walnut pudding... they always try to offer options that are lactose-free, nut-free, and gluten-free. There's also a wide selection of drinks, not forgetting, of course, Tétique organic teas and infusions.

The three languages they primarily work with are Spanish, Catalan, and English, although they also have a good collection of books in French and German.
And continuing with literature, it remains to be said that Babèlia organizes its own events, such as reading clubs, which they have enjoyed every month for the past four years, and they also host other events such as discussions, presentations, and exhibitions.
