The oxidation of tea leaves leads to the presence of other positive antioxidants, such as theaflavins and theubigins, or in other words, polymeric polyphenols that form when oxidation changes the enzymes present in tea leaves.

Amino Acids in Tea

Tea contains an extraordinary stimulant, L-theanine, an amino acid found only in the leaves of Camellia sinensis , which provides the body with a mild state of alertness. L-theanine 's effect increases alpha wave activity in the brain and is found primarily in white and green tea.

Tea stimulants: theine and theobromine

Caffeine appears in much lower quantities than theine and theobromine in tea, but they provide tea drinkers with a very significant boost of energy for the body and mind.

The caffeine content is half as much as a third of that of coffee. Although the amount of stimulants in tea is higher per kilogram than in coffee, the stimulants are always lower per cup of tea. than in coffee, because 1 kilo of tea can make many more cups. For example, 1 kilo of tea typically produces 400 cups, and 1 kilo of coffee can only make 80 cups.

How theine and theobromine affect each of our bodies is always a generic experience that depends on our individual body chemistry. Not everyone handles one or more cups of coffee or tea in the same way.

Tea and its calories

Tea actually has no calories , but the situation changes when sweeteners or milk are added. The beverage can then have between 20 and 60 calories , which is still a modest amount, but many teas have a naturally sweet taste , which can be very satisfying and reason enough to avoid adding sweeteners of any kind.

Caffeine-free teas, bottled teas from concentrate, fanning teas, and powdered teas have considerably fewer antioxidant qualities. And bottled leaf teas have similar amounts of antioxidants to freshly brewed leaf teas.

Tea alone cannot fight disease or improve health, as organic tea must be complemented by a lifestyle that incorporates regular exercise, adequate sleep, a diet rich in antioxidants, fiber- and vitamin-rich vegetables, fruits, high-quality proteins, and small amounts of fats and sugars.
